The filter is one of the most important items on any heating and air conditioning system.

Dirty air filters lead to a multitude of problems. Dirty or clogged air filters reduce airflow, making your furnace /air conditioner work harder to circulate. And if they're working harder, it's costing you money without making your home more comfortable.
Over time, the filter
gets visibly clogged with dust, mold spores, animal dander and other particles.
The restriction in airflow can cause major problems, the motors & heat exchanger need to work harder, which can lead to the weakening and eventual failure of the equipment.
Clean or replace the filter according to the manufacturer’s directions, recommendations vary between 1-3 months for maximum system efficiency.
Manufacturers' suggested time frames for furnace filter replacement do not work for everyone! If you have numerous pets, had renovations done or there are several heavy smokers in the house, your filters may get dirty much faster.
Inspect the filter visually every month. Most new filters are white, if your filter is dark, grey and you don't see light thru it, replace it.
An Air Solutions professional can show you how to do this.
